Top 10 Mother’s Day Gift Ideas That She Will Actually Use Everyday
Here’s the thing. I didn’t want this to just be a list of random things you could buy that she may or may not use. Instead, this is a list of things that I (a mom!) use and love all the time. In fact, these are things I have gifted myself and know that people love them. As a result, I am confident that the mom in your life will love them too!
One other thing, is that I love shopping small businesses. Most of these items on my top 10 Mother’s Day gift ideas are from small businesses. Which I love!
1. Avryn Co
Avryn Co. is a small woman owned business in South Carolina. Every wristlet and wallet is handmade, and made to last. I have been using my wallet and wristlet for a few years now, and it is a total game changer!
Not only are they gorgeous and so well made, this wristlet and wallet combo has made my life infinitely better. I am not exaggerating! I know that if I have my keys, I have everything I need! No more accidentally forgetting to put your wallet back in your bag.
She may not look like much at first, but I assure you that she is MIGHTY! Things I keep in my wallet on the regular are:
- 7- 8 cards
- Cash
- Bandaids
- Small sticky notes (for those automatic flushers that have traumatized my oldest…)
- With room to spare!
Things I keep on my wristlet along with my wallet:
- House and mailbox keys
- Car keys
- Chapstick on a chapstick holder
- A hair tie
- An extra clip for my phone tether
I could go on and on about how much I LOVE my Avryn Co. Wallet. I have tried other brands, and nothing beats Avryn Co. Trust me on this one. She is going to love it!
2. Saranoni Blanket
This is another small family owned business that I adore. And once you use a Saranoni blanket, no other blanket will be good enough. They are THAT GOOD. There is something magical about them, like you get snuggled up in one and the melatonin kicks in, and you get some incredible sleep. (Ok that may not be true, but they are so comfy!!!!)
I know that there are other companies out there that people rave about having the softest blanket in the world. But trust me when I say nothing beats a Saranoni. They have so many different fabrics to choose from, and it’s honestly so hard to choose which one is my favorite.
Tip: If this is your first Saranoni, I suggest going with XL lush, XL patterned lush, or XL double layered bamboni. However, you really can’t go wrong with any of them.
The mom in your life will be obsessed with her new Saranoni blanket!
3. R. Riveter Bag
R. Riveter is a really neat company. This is also a woman owned company, and each bag is handmade by military spouses. Their mission is to help military spouses have a job no matter where they go. (A struggle for military families for sure!) Each bag is shipped around to each person who creates the different part of the bag. That being said, I just think the mission of this company is amazing, and I love how unique it is.
On the other hand, they have a pretty large selection of bags, from small cross bodies, large tote bags, backpacks, and even luggage! They also come out with new fabrics and patterns pretty frequently too.
I am currently using a smaller bag called the “Hopper”, and I absolutely love it! I can fit a couple diapers, a small pack of baby wipes, my phone, wallet and keys in it. It makes for the perfect mom grab and go bag.
4. Tiny Tags Necklace
This is one exception to the list of things I have, use and love. I don’t actually own any Tiny Tags (yet!). However, it has been on my want list for a while now. This small jewelry company makes beautiful, personalized jewelry. Which is just perfect for moms in any stage of motherhood.
They have a wide range of styles available, and option for customization. Initials, names, birth info, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The sky is the limit! I love the dainty options, as that is my personal style. But you really can find anything for the mom in your life.
5. Audible Subscription
I know Audible is not a small business, but I absolutely love my Audible subscription. Not only is there a HUGE selection of free books to listen to, there are books available to purchase (which they run sales all the time too!). Additionally, some subscription plans offer a monthly credit that you can use to purchase a book to keep with.
Audio books are great to listen to
- When you’re up late at night feeding and rocking a baby
- When you’re doing chores
- When you’re feeling overstimulated and need something else to focus on
- In the car (My kids and I have really been enjoying listening to books together on the ride to and from school lately!)
- When you’re having trouble sleeping
The list goes on and on! Not only does Audible offer audiobooks, but you can also listen to podcasts as well. Finally, they also offer really great customer service, and the ability to return a book you read that you didn’t love.
On the other hand, there are other audiobook subscriptions out there. However, I personally use and really enjoy Audible.
6. Brumate
Brumate mugs and cups are game changers. These cups are completely leak proof, which is my favorite! Not only are they leakproof, but they are really easy to clean too.
Now, when I say leakproof, I mean it. As a matter of fact, I have put these cups through the test. You can literally throw it, turn it upside and shake it like crazy and it will not leak! It’s pretty amazing!
I love being able to toss my cup in my bag and I don’t have to worry about spills. Another bonus, is that if you leave your drink sitting out the (little) kids won’t be able drink it and leave nasty floats in it! Ha!
7. Shady Rays
I am really rough on sunglasses, and I have been through my fair of sunnies. Shady Rays makes awesome sunglasses that really hold up well. My husband and I both use, and love our Shady Rays!
First, Shady Rays come with a lifetime guarantee. In fact, this warranty covers lost, stolen, or broken. And I can attest that they honor it, you simply pay a minor fee to have a new pair shipped to you. Easy day!
Second, they have a ton of style options. They also have tangle free nose pieces so they don’t get caught in your hair. Finally, they are a great price for quality, and that amazing warranty. If the mom in your life wears sunglasses on the regular, she will love these!
8. Gift Card to Her Favorite Drink Stop
It seems weird, but I know that going to get a fancy drink from your favorite drink stop is a form of self care for most moms. Maybe it’s the drive there or the sweet drink, I’m not really sure, but if this sounds like the mom in your life, this is a great gift option!
Local coffee shop, smoothie stop, soda stand, whatever her favorite is, grabbing a gift card is easy but will be much appreciated. While many moms enjoy going out for a treat, it can get expensive which can trigger some guilt. Having a gift card can take that guilt away and give her something she can enjoy more than once.
For example, I have a drink stop that I enjoy, but I frequently opt out of going. The reason being that I feel bad using the money to buy a drink when I know I can buy it cheaper at the grocery store or just make it at home. However, I am always so excited when I have a gift card I can use instead.
9. Salon Visit
As I said before, moms often put things they enjoy on the back burner because of guilt for spending money on ourselves. Often one of those things is a visit to the salon. Whether that is to get her hair or nails done, gifting her a trip to the salon is a gift that she will love. Guaranteed!
10. Family Photo Session
Every mom loves nice photos of her family. And let’s face it, moms are never in enough photos. With that in mind, give her the gift of setting up a family photo shoot with a local photographer.
Top 10 Mother’s Day Gift Ideas When You’re Tight On Cash
Before we go, here is a little bonus list! These are some ideas for things that you can do for the mom in your life when you don’t have a lot of money to spend.
1. Breakfast In Bed
Full disclosure: If you go this route, let her sleep in. No breakfast at 6am… And don’t forget to clean up after!
2. A Basket of Her Favorite Treats
Candy, drinks, baked goods, snacks… anything that she loves. In particular, things she doesn’t have to share!
3. Flowers
You’re probably thinking “Have you been to a flower shop recently?” Yes, flowers from a florist can be pretty pricey. However, I love buying flowers at the grocery store. Costco, Sam’s Club, Aldi, Kroger, Safeway, Haagen, Publix, etc. are a few grocery stores I know regularly have flowers available.
Another place to find flowers for a great price is farmer’s markets or roadside stands. On the contrary, if she likes to take care of plants, get her a potted plant instead of cut flowers.
4. Something the Kids Made for Her
Every mom loves the things her kids make for her. Take some time to make something together with your kids. She will adore it! If you need some ideas, check out this super cute flower craft for kids to make for mom!
5. Cozy Pajamas
Everyone loves a cozy pair of PJs. And let’s be honest, she could probably use a new pair anyway!
6. Take the Kids Out of The House So She Can Take A Nap
Seriously, an uninterrupted nap, or even just some peace and quiet can go a long way! Take the kids to the park for an hour or two, and let her have some much deserved down time.
7. No Cooking For The Day
Feeding the family is exhausting. I am one hundred percent positive that if you take the initiative to plan, cook, and clean up all the meals for the day she will be thrilled!
8. Sugar scrub, lotion, pumice stone, perfume, etc.
All of these options are fairly inexpensive, and bonus points if you spring for something she wouldn’t normally buy for herself.
9. Massage (No strings attached massage… ha!)
Every mom could use a nice long massage. So gab some lotion and give her a good massage, then let her peacefully drift off to sleep.
10. Bake her a cake, cookies, etc.
Sometimes just having someone take the time to do something special for you is the best gift. In that case, take the time to make something special for her. Even if you’re not a baker, she will love it. As a matter of fact, check out my cheesecake recipe that is perfect for beginners!
